Student Notebook
Students will be expected to keep a notebook for this class. Students are expected to bring this notebook to class EVERY DAY. Each 6 weeks there will be a notebook TEST which will count as a major grade. A table of contents will be posted on the website.
Absences/Make-up Work
Per school policy, work during the day you were absent must be turned in when you return to class. For work assigned during your absence, you have one class day for every missed class to complete the assignments. ALL MAKE UP WORK IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY. Always feel free to ask a classmate or check teacher website for missed assignments.
Tardiness
Tardiness will be handled according to school policy. If tardy, students will be expected to quietly sign in, take a seat, and begin work . Class disruptions will not be tolerated.
Grading Policy
Grades will be calculated using the following formula:
60% - Daily Work (daily assignment, quizzes, etc..)
40% - Tests/Projects
Leaving Class
Each student will be given 6 passes per semester. These passes should be used wisely because students will not be given any additional passes once they are used. Students who have used all 6 passes will not be allowed to leave during class time. Students will be able to turn unused passes in for bonus points at the end of each semester. Passes do not roll over to the next semester.
Disciplinary Steps
I expect every student to come to class prepared to put forth his/her best effort with the goal of doing what is necessary to achieve success. In addition to following the Student Handbook rules, students are expected to exhibit professionalism and respect. Violation of these rules and expectations will result in the following disciplinary actions:
Stage 1 Verbal Warning
Stage 2 Student-Teacher Conference
Stage 3 Detention and/or Parent or Guardian Contact
Stage 4 Referral
BYOD Policy
RRISD policy allows students to only use their devices with classroom teacher permission for educational purposes. If students do not follow this procedure their phones/smart watches will be taken and turned into the office. DEVICES ARE NEVER ALLOWED DURING TESTING!
